{"id":10,"date":"2025-04-05T06:07:52","date_gmt":"2025-04-05T06:07:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/batnajms.net\/?p=10"},"modified":"2025-09-21T19:36:14","modified_gmt":"2025-09-21T19:36:14","slug":"guidelines-for-authors","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/batnajms.net\/index.php\/2025\/04\/05\/guidelines-for-authors\/","title":{"rendered":"Guidelines for Authors"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>(Pour les recommandations aux auteurs en fran\u00e7ais, cliquer <a href=\"https:\/\/batnajms.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/Archives\/Recommandations_Auteurs_BJMS.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">ici<\/a>) <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>General rules<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The articles are written in French, English, or Arabic.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The journal is completely free for authors, with no submission or publication fees.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Manuscripts submitted to the BJMS must be original, i.e. they must not have been previously published, nor be submitted to or in the process of being published in any other journal.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Manuscripts should be sent on a PC or Macintosh computer,  via the ASJP\u2019s submission platform using the following link:&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.asjp.cerist.dz\/en\/submission\/706\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">https:\/\/www.asjp.cerist.dz\/en\/submission\/706<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Articles will only be accepted for publication after having been submitted to the editorial board (1st stage) which essentially verifies the submission\\\u2019s compliance with the BJMS editorial rules and the reading committee (2nd stage) which verifies the originality and scientific relevance of the submission.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Once the article is accepted for review, the authors must confirm their authorship.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The corresponding author must submit the answers to the reviewers\\\u2019 questions and comments on the ASJP platform within&nbsp;<strong>one month<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Once the paper has been accepted for publication, the corresponding author must attach to the corrected manuscript the&nbsp;<mark>ICMJE<\/mark>&nbsp;conflict of interest declaration form (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.icmje.org\/disclosure-of-interest\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">http:\/\/www.icmje.org\/disclosure-of-interest<\/a>) as well as the authorship form.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>2 \u2013 Preparing the manuscript :<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Articles are typed in Times New Roman or equivalent, 12-point font, double-spaced (approx. 2,000 characters including spaces per page).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On the&nbsp;<strong>cover page<\/strong>, authors should put their surname, first names, affiliation, and address, as well as the contact details of the corresponding author (e-mail, telephone) where they can be reached.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The&nbsp;<strong>first page<\/strong>&nbsp;includes the title of the article, an abstract (maximum 350 characters), and keywords (maximum 5). Original articles should be accompanied by a structured abstract (Objective, Material and Methods, Results, Conclusion). Abstracts of clinical cases or reviews do not need to be structured.<br>The&nbsp;<strong>title<\/strong>&nbsp;should be as brief and understandable as possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The&nbsp;<strong>text<\/strong>&nbsp;should follow the usual drafting style according to the form of the article (see below);&nbsp;<strong>Diagrams<\/strong>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<strong>figures<\/strong>, as well as&nbsp;<strong>tables,<\/strong>&nbsp;should appear on separate pages, with their captions, after the references. Tables and figures should be numbered in Arabic numerals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><mark><strong>References<\/strong>:<\/mark>&nbsp;they must be written on separate pages, including only those references cited in the article. References are listed in order of appearance (from 1 to n) in the text. The citation is called by the reference number in brackets or square brackets. The numbers associated with the documents will be found in the list of bibliographical references<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Calls for citations are inserted after the cited or paraphrased text and before the point.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If a reference is cited more than once, it retains the same number.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>When the author\\\u2019s name is cited in the text, the citation call will preferably follow the author\\\u2019s name.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If the cited document has more than one author, and you wish to mention the names of the authors in your text, you can mention the name of the first author followed by .et al.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>When the author\\\u2019s name is cited in the text, the citation call will preferably follow the author\\\u2019s name.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If the cited document has more than one author, and you wish to mention the names of the authors in your text, you can mention the name of the first author followed by .et al.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If there are more than 6 authors, mention the first 6 authors separated by a comma, followed by the mention et al.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To use a graphic or diagram, you must obtain prior permission from the author or copyright holder and correctly cite the source.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>References will be written in accordance with Vancouver standards (International Committee of Medical Journal Editors. Uniform requirements for manuscripts submitted to biomedical journals).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>DOIs as well as all Pubmed identifiers (PMID, PMCID) for referenced articles, should be stated wherever available.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Example :<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Gacem H, Beriala HNI, Hamzi A, el al. PMID: 21696309.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>3 \u2013 Manuscript Types :<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Editorials:<\/strong>&nbsp;often commissioned by the editorial board \u2013 Should not exceed 2500 words and 20 references. \u2013 No abstracts.\\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Reviews:<\/strong>&nbsp;including literature reviews and meta-analyses. \u2013 Not to exceed 4500 words and 60 references. \u2013 Abstracts are not structured.\\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Original articles:<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2013 The abstract and text should be structured (introduction or objective, methods, results, discussion, conclusion). \u2013 Not to exceed 4500 words and 40 references.\\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Case Reports:<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2013 The abstract should not be structured \u2013 The text must be structured (introduction, observation, discussion, conclusion). \u2013 Not to exceed 2500 words and 20 references.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>4- Manuscript Peer Review Process :<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Each manuscript submitted to the BJMS undergoes three different evaluations:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The editorial staff carries out an initial evaluation of the manuscript as to its scope, relevance, quality, originality, interest for the readership, etc. The manuscript is also subjected to an active search for plagiarism.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>It will then be sent for a second evaluation or rejected if it does not meet the criteria.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The second evaluation of the manuscript is carried out in a double-blind way (Double-blind peer review) by two external reviewers chosen by the editorial staff.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The editorial staff will take into account the opinions of the two experts and decide whether to accept, reject, or request a review.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If the decision is revision, the author will have sufficient time to review the comments and revise the manuscript.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The author must ensure that his or her response and the revised manuscript correctly address all points raised by the reviewers and\/or the editorial staff.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The revised manuscript will be re-evaluated one last time by the editorial staff before being put into pdf format, then a notification of acceptance is sent to the author.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>5- Plagiarism policy :<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Plagiarism is defined as the reproduction of another author\\\u2019s work with great similarity and without quotation. BJMS do not tolerate plagiarism in any of its publications<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Any paper submitted will be actively investigated for plagiarism by the BJMS editorial staff through appropriate plagiarism checking tools and if there is sufficient evidence of plagiarism:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>prior to acceptance, the paper is immediately rejected and the author is informed.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>After the acceptance of the manuscript, the author will assume all legal consequences.
